Clear for travel! Luz verde para viajar!

Where to begin? Lots happening. So many steps, so much of it out of our hands. The great news, though is that, today, finally, we've been cleared for travel. We *still* don't know when we'll meet the boys but we hope to know in the next couple of days. It should be very quickly, though, like in the next week.
So, lots of things won't get done at home but the most important thing for us at the moment is to be together, to start forming one family, under one roof. As we are approaching the holidays and the adoption process has several steps, we are well aware that we might not complete it in time to be home before the courts close. Even so, we've decided it is worth it to travel. So, once again, I ask my praying friends and family, to continue to remember us through this process.
To recap the process from now on: we meet the boys and that same day they stay with us!! We have some steps in between, and eventually, an adoption decree is issued, if all goes well. Then off to get new birth certificates, passports and their U.S. visas. We come home and when we land in the United States, they become U.S. citizens. Most of the paperwork needed for those visas is done way before, even before we know which specific children we are adopting.
The boys live in Cartagena which is a tourist destination on the Caribbean -- so we'll be packing beach, summery attire. We'll be there until the adoption is finalized. Then we'll move off to Bogota, where most likely it will be rainy and cold, to pay a visit to the U.S. Embassy and continue with the visa process. After that, we can head home.

Tanto que ha pasado y tantos pasos en este proceso fuera de nuestras manos. Si antes revisaba mi correo constantemente, estos dias han habido momentos que ni una supercomputadora de UCSD se me haria lo suficientemente rapida. Pero, por fin, nos han dado luz verde para viajar. En nuestro mundo, esto es enorme. Aun no tenemos fecha pero sera prontito para poder tener algo de esperanza de que volveremos como una familia de siete en diciembre.
Tengo historias que contar pero me las guardo -- como nuestras aventuras para obtener visas. Hoy solo hay dicha y esperanza.
Los ninos viven en Cartagena, que es una ciudad turistica en el caribe. Pasaremos ahi la mayoria del tiempo. Para los que no saben o no se acuerdan como funciona esto: Desde el dia que conocemos a los ninos, ellos permanecen con nosotros y empezamos el proceso de hacernos una sola familia. Hay varios pasos despues pero lo mas significativo es cuando se recibe la sentencia de adopcion. Es ahi cuando se vuelven legalmente nuestros hijos y se procede con nuevas actas de nacimiento, pasaportes. De Cartagena nos vamos a Bogota, a seguir tramitando sus visas. Ya que tengan visas americanas, podemos regresar a casa. Cuando los ninos llegan a este pais, se convierten en ciudadanos americanos sin perder su ciudadania Colombiana.
Hemos estado haciendo preparativos en la casa pero la cosa ahora si se vuelve real. Lo que alcanzemos hacer bien y lo que no, pues tendra que esperar.
Ahorita empezamos a ver vuelos y lugares de hospedaje.
